My name is Stephen ‘James’ Parsons Jr, I was born in California in 1981 making me 37 years old. I have always been a goofy kid taking apart all my toys, very artistic, played soccer, and went to boy scouts. I enjoy reading technical books, and working with my hands.
After high school in 1999 I started my second business, a graphic design company called ‘Skin Kancer Design’, I sold tattoo-flash to tattoo parlors, six months later I sold the business. In May 2002, I decided it was time to serve my country, after nine months of labor-intensive exercise, I signed the papers and was shipped off into the United States Navy.
First was boot camp, and then off to Naval Hospital Corps School, out of a class of 80 only five corpsmen went places besides Camp Pendleton California, I went to Yokosuka Japan Naval Hospital. While stationed in Japan I worked, Family Practice, Pediatrics and finished my tour working as an EMT in the Emergency Room.
In 2005, I transferred to Camp Lejeune North Carolina where I was stationed as senior Corpsman of Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines. During that time I went to Iraq for seven months where I read forty books and watched over two hundred movies. When I returned from Iraq was on Temporary Assigned Duty to 29 Palms, California where I refereed war games.
After my five years in the NAVY I got out and traveled to London, Mexico, Peru, and across the United States. Then from 2009 to 2013 I lived in Jacksonville North Carolina, earning an Associates in Science, and an Associates in Engineering.
In July 2013 before I attended Drexel Univsity I wanted to commemorate a new chapter in my life, so I biked 1200 miles. The trip started in Jacksonville NC and ended in New Orleans LA. The 18-day trip showed me a part of the world I would have never seen. And exposed me to some of the greatest eateries. After the bike trip, I spent a month in Spain learning emersion Spanish.
June 2017, I graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelors degree in biomedical engineering with a concentration in bio-material and tissue engineering.
I'm currently working on starting a bio-technologies firm. My firm has three focuses; Life science tools, consumer biological tissues & materials, and lastly medical products. www.celleleven.com
