Outsourced Movies β A Parkour Film Made Anywhere
Idea #240,312
Imagine creating a movie without renting a studio, hiring a big crew, or flying across the world. Outsourced Movies is a concept that crowdsources action footage from skilled performers globally β starting with the parkour community.
How It Works
- We contact 24 parkour athletes from different cities and countries.
- Each participant receives a custom outfit and a distinctive mask that gives the character a unified look while keeping the actorβs identity anonymous.
- They record themselves doing parkour β running, climbing, flipping β for about 5 minutes each using a mobile phone or action camera.
- Once footage is collected, we stitch the clips together, creating seamless transitions between scenes and locations worldwide.
- We sprinkle in a light storyline to connect the action β perhaps a chase, a heist, or a courier mission β giving the film flow and purpose.
Why This Works
- Global Visual Variety: Different urban landscapes bring visual interest without location scouting.
- Low Budget, High Action: Minimal production costs compared to traditional filmmaking, while still delivering exciting, dynamic footage.
- Creative Collaboration: Involves athletes as both performers and local filmmakers, adding authenticity and unique perspectives.
Potential Add-Ons
- Behind-the-scenes content from each performer.
- Interactive map showing filming locations.
- Community voting on the storyline or character design.
This approach democratizes filmmaking while tapping into the vibrant parkour community. With a bit of clever editing and storytelling, we can create a global parkour movie unlike anything seen before.
